12/4/2014 7:07:00 PMOh - forgot to mention in my article. The 2nd photo w/the dead fish - This is a serious pet peeve for me! If you use a lure, you can be selective of the fish you keep. I only had 1 that I didn't want today that I had to keep because the hook went through his gills. If you fish with bait and the fish swallows the bait, keep the fish! He's already dead if the hook is in his guts, and it's YOUR fault for fishing with bait instead of lures if you wanted to be picky!
Throwing the fish back so they die near the bank gives the fishermen serious bad press with the local Greenlake snobs. I can't count how many times I heard people walking by commenting on all the dead fish.

12/4/2014 7:41:00 PMNice going Seattle Pat, I see where you were at, I stuck to my usual 65th St dock,...so sad over there, and yes, the cormorants were vicious!! Never thought of trying that area, but wow, the crowd, and yes, that is so disrespectful of people doing that, polluting the ecosystem with discarded fish,..not good!! Next time, will look for you, again, PROPSS!!

And don't let the naysayers (in person or on the website stop you). They are the ones with the issues, not you, so you might as well just let them hang onto their angst while you continue to have a good time!

WOW, it looks like the cormorant population is increasing! It does seriously bother me too when trout are hooked and left to die, but I know the cormorants will not let them go to waste. Have fun out there!

During ski season I don't get the chance to fish, but if there's still no snow when I get back, I'll be hitting Reiter for the REAL steelhead! WDFW had to stock the fish in lakes that have no outlet, otherwise the Steelhead, as relentless as they are, will find their way down to a river somewhere and defeat the purpose of the lawsuit. Only lakes in the area with no stream outlets could receive the planted Steelhead.
