Fished most of the morning without much luck, was marking very few fish and realized it was because I was targeting a depth that was just a bit too shallow (35-45 ft). Moved to a different area and went deeper, marked fish holding tight to the bottom in 55-65 and went to work. Had been slow dragging a jig for much of the day, so changed up the presentation and went with a moving bait and the bite turned on - wrong species for me, but I started lighting up rainbow trout. Best one went 15.5 inches (picture). As the sun started to make its way into twilight, I went to another area and targeted some stumps and logs in 45 feet of water, hooked into a really nice smallie... had no idea I had a fish on at first. Got it with 5 ft of the boat and it came unbuttoned, but it definitely made my day to see that big girl up close...
