Still in search of that winter bass. Been out a few times now this winter and still have yet to land one. Figured I would throw on the rain gear and head out to American because I have not really fished much for bass out there but the few I have caught have been real quality fish. Located fish on the graph in the 60' range but could not get them to bite anything. I did manage to land a few Kokanee by accident on a dropshot and on a Rapala I was using on a bottom bouncing rig. They were big ol nasty fish all dark and looked like a salmon in the river after they have spawned Zombie Fish dead and they just don't know it yet. They were all in that 18-20" range and still put up a good fight so at least there was some excitement in the day other than the perch packing at my lures. There was one other bass fisherman out there but not sure how he did. Just before I left at about 3:30 the rain had stopped and the trout were jumping everywhere. A fly fisherman could clean house out here in the evening. Guess I will have to keep at it till i figure this puzzle out.
