The walleye bite remains very strong at Banks Lake. Fish are holding in 35-50 feet and are munching down on the Mack's Lure Spindrift Walleye Rig tipped with a whole crawler. Slow trolling with 2 ounce bottom bouncers has been the key. My speed has been .5-.8 mph.

I have several openings for the next few weekends and now is a great time for Banks walleye as well as Rufus Woods walleye.

I have also been getting some great rainbows at Rufus Woods so now is a great time for a combination trip.

Today the walleye on Banks were all in the 17-22 inch range, and we got some nice yellow perch to add to the bag.

Have the walleye on Banks already spawned?

We have caught a few using Blade Baits on Banks. This past weekend they weren't quite as stacked up in spots but instead scattered so covering water with bottom bouncers and spinner rigs were more successful. Clawman, they are getting very close to spawn but most haven't yet. The males we've kept haven't spawned but getting close.

One of the males I caught on Roosevelt Sun. had spawned and another sprayed on the boat when I was removing the hook, very ripe.
