I put my boat on the lake at 6 am . The lake was as smooth as glass. I was fishing by 6:30 am Was the only boat until about 8:30. The sunrise was worth the trip out so early . What little bite there was , was around 8:00 again, caught 2 nice steelheads both about 13 inches , I returned them to the water in hopes of catching them later on in the year after they grow a little bit. As luck would have it I left my fly pole in the truck this morning, I think that was a big mistake for I saw quite a few larger trout sucking flies off the surface for about 2 hours. I must say there are some really large trout in the lake, I saw 2 or 3 that will go in the upper 5 lbs from the size of their heads . My arms tired out around 11:00 so I left the lake . Saw that the banks were full of people fishing on the way back in. All in all it was a great day to be out in nature. Tight lines and take a child fishing

Nice reort, bite has definitely slowed down, but the fish are bigger. Just out of curiosity, did you launch somewhere off the east side of the lake? Wondering where all those bank fishermen were,...thanks

I've never heard of anyone catching a 5lb trout out of the lake. You might be seeing carp. They kind of swirl on top of the water on nice days and can be pretty large.
