This lake has been on my mind for a while and now that I'm finally getting time to fish I thought I would run up and check it out. Didn't get up there until about 11am after getting some work done at home. There was one other bass boat that had just launched when I got there and they were fishing the launch side so I motored across to the far side of the lake.

Spooked one early on and it was off like a shot. I saw one moving in a small reed clump but when I pitched in to him he swam off. Figuring the fish were spooky I changed tactics and backed off. Making long casts to the outside edge of broken reeds nabbed the first strike of the day. I landed him...2.0lbs. Two casts later I hooked another and it ran at the boat, I had him hooked but not good and about halfway to the boat he came off. A short time later I had the third and final strike of the day but missed.

Water temps were 48-49* and although it was sunny out the air just felt chilly. I'll give the northern lakes another week or two I think.
