Beautiful day out on the water today, although I was an hour late to meet my brother at the launch. I assumed that my phone would adjust for daylight savings, it didn't.
Launched at 8am headed to south Mercer. Hit our first 10" Kokanee 25 min. in. and lost him at the net! He did one of those teeter totter moves on the rim of the net, shook the hook, saw his chance, and took it.
About 30 min later I hooked a 17" cutty right in the kisser. "Get in my belly" !!
Hooked another Koke an hour later and again, he shook the hook and split.

All in all, a great day with my brother. We used some new gear today. I can't remember what its called and I'm stuck on my couch so I'm not getting up :-). It's about 2" long curved plastic with a small rattle on the bottom. Worked well. Eli's line was a wedding ring and corn.
Fished between 15' and 40'. Hit all around 25'. Used herring sent too.

Happy Fishing. Until next week, tight lines!

Nice fish, sounds like you were using a Pro-Troll trout/kokanee killer. They are proven slayers of cutts and kokes alike on this lake. Keep in mind, right now there is a minimum size limit on trout and kokanee of 12".

Nice fish and can't beat Lake WA this time of year for some peaceful scenery and opportunity of a nice variety of fish to catch. Looks like where I launch from so hope to see you out there someday soon! I am in a 16' smokercraft with blue canvas top and "salmonbarry" stenciled on both sides!

@G-Man- Thanks for your comment. The 12" rule applies to kokanee as well?

@Salmonberry- Ill keep an eye out!

I believe so. Unless otherwise specified in the special rules for the lake/body of water, kokanee are treated as trout. So they count as part of your daily limit for trout and as there is currently a minimum size limit for trout you end up with a slot limit of 12" to 15" for kokanee on the Lake.
