Steve Ericsson fixed my big motor last week, put in my new fish finder, and made a new winch stand for the trailer. Thank you. Monday, Auburn Marine fixed the Yamaha kicker recall while I waited. Today, Tuesday, I thought I would go out and try everything on American Lake.
I launched at noon to the sound of machine gun fire. There was a lot of gunfire the 3 hours I was there. I started out in the northeast end of the lake and then trolled south. I was trying to learn how to make the fish finder work as well as trolling. I went from 22-92 feet of water. I trolled .92-1.7 mph at 9 foot to 46 feet deep.
I only had one bite on a Dick Nite 50/50 in front of a Mini Bloody Mary. My fish finder didn't see many fish. I am still trying to learn it. The water temp was 50 and went up to 52 then the wind came up and the temp went back to 50 when I left.
The big motor did fine and the kicker ran better. It was the first outing that something didn't go haywire…
