Arrived at Potholes State Park around 4:00 on Friday from Seattle and set up camp. Went scouting with the boat just before sunset and hooked into a smalleye along the shore by crab creek.
Saturday the wind was raging and though we tried fishing Lind Coulee to get into protected water, we couldn't keep the boat straight and spent an hour running back to the State Park.
Sunday was a different story. Headed out from camp about 9:00 and ran over to the humps in the middle near crab creek. Fished 1.5oz bottom walkers and tried kokanee troll wedding rings on one line and slow death on the other. Slow death was the winner with 3-4 smalleye hooked into there, but the bite was slow and we were weaving in and out of a bunch of other boats so we headed over to the mouth of Lind Coulee. Found where they were holding along a little island at the mouth and trolled around the same 1/4 mile of water for a few hours picking up three nice Walleye and a couple of very pregnant perch. Had a couple nice fish frys as a reward.
