The morning's rain sure has changed me. I would never let some liquid sunshine stop me as a young man. LOL It stopped about 11am and I couldn't stand it any more.
The boat was ready so off I went. You would think with 7 kids and 3 son in-laws I could find someone to go with me, no such luck.
Started pulling a fly with a willow blade and got hits right away but no takes. Switched to a wedding ring and kicked up the speed to 1.2 and caught three over a hour or so. Passed a guy that launched the same time as me and seen him pull two in quick succession. He was pulling a orange and silver #1 dicknite. I didn't have one but did have a Williams spoon in the same colors. Fishing turned happy after that, was really the go to color of the day for the stockers.
Not many boats considering its usually combat fishing on this lake on opening day. Water was sitting at 58 and the wind was nothing. Left at 4 after catching 4.99 fish. Boated the last one and called it an afternoon. No pictures, but we all know what 5 stocked 10" trout look like.
