Today was a 10!! Got a call from Tom a while back saying he really wanted to get his kids into fish. I advised him to book a trip on Lake Chelan and vowed we would work hard and show his kids a great time. Well, it was beyond anything I could have even expected!! We started out in the middle of the lake down low in the lower basin. 4 Kokanee rods out running 6" Slingblade dodgers. 1 Pink Liminator, 1 Orange Liminator, an Orange Wiggle Hoochie, and a Pink Wiggle Hoochie. Never had to move the riggers from 42, 52, 55, 58. Speed was varied between 1.3mph and 1.6mph. We instantly started hammering on fish. Couldnt even get 2 rods out. Ended up boating our 30 Kokanee and losing atleast 15 more all by 9am.
Not wanting to end our trip we decided to switch gears and target teout. Flatlining 2 Rapalas and 1 Cripple Lure all around Manson bay at 2.0mph. We got so many bone crushing hits!!! Ended up with 5 Rainbows and 11 Cutthroat!! (Guide caught 1 of a doubke to end the day) 2 of the Rainbows were huge beautiful fish!
So, to sum up the day....46 fish in the boat by 11am!! Had a great time with plenty of laughs and gorgeous weather!!
