Didn't get on the lake fishing until after 12. Trolled around a lot of the lake but the best bite was trolling parallel to shore on the far side across from Yale Park. Started with dodgers or sling blades and hoochies, but switched over to ford fender and wedding ring with much better results. Used two different scents on the corn, but corn soaked in Kenai cocktail far out fished the kokanee killer scent. Most fish were caught 25-30 feet down in 50-60 feet of water. Water temp was 60-63 degrees. Bite was fairly constant, I would say average was less than 10 minutes between bites. Bite was very light though and my brother and I missed far more fish than normal. Most bites were just one small bump and the fish was gone. Ended up with 5 Kokanee and a squaw fish in the boat, dropped 3 kokes off right at the boat and fed a lot of them 30 feet down.

Small. It was half fishing trip and half family outing, we didn't fish it hard. I will be out there again this week probably without kids and hopefully I can post some pics of success.

"small"? some say small, is under 16" some, 16 lbs. so, on a koke report, listing how "small" they are, in inches, is much more descriptive, to the readers. i was up to yale years ago, and they were about 9-10 inches. still a 16 fish limit there? people need to see inches, on koke reports. more and more, are not listing lenth. without it, its probably the most frustrating reports to read....thanks.

I didn't measure them, but probably in the 8-10" range. Last year about same time of year I got 10 in a couple hours and all fish were bigger than the ones I got this year. It is still a 16 fish limit. I went to net one this trip with a trout net and it was skinny enough it slipped through the mesh. So... "small." I usually catch a little bigger fish in Merwin, but more in Yale. I also prefer Yale just because it is a lot less crowded.
