Hit the water at about 10:30am and fished till 1:00. First time fishing this lake and it was a perfect day. I decided to break out the old fly rod and give it a go. I was fishing floating line and a six foot leader and started with a copper john. After 20-40 casts I didn't have any luck and decided to change it up. I switched to a wooly bugger with olive green and yellow. After a few casts, I noticed a fish trailing the lure and got excited that I must be on the right track. Ten casts later I land a small planter rainbow (12in). I continued fishing this lure for a while and had no bites. I chose to work the shallow area near the boat launch, next time I will try deeper water.

Overall, it was a great day to be on the water and I saw a lot of fish feeding on the top and I think with the right fly I could have done very well. I would recommend this lake to everyone.
