Got to the lake at 7 a/m after a late start. Overcast skies and a slight mist coming down. Not too bad, it was pretty calm and not too cold. Thought I would try for some LMB even though I haven't seen any reports from here for bass. Was using my "go to" bait, a floating Rapala in black and silver. Kinda looked like a Kokanee to me, but I am color blind so what the hell do I know... Started catching some small ones, maybe 1 lb or so, up tight to docks and in shallow water. Water temp was between 65 and 67. Had consistent action till about 2 p/m and then the bite just died.
Totals for the day:
12 Bass with the biggest just under 2 lbs.
1 Brown trout, which was a nice surprise
4 Rainbows
The trout hammered the lure and put up a real good fight. Really fun day!
