Stopped by Long Lake at 6pm, headed to the fishing pier and fished until a little after 9pm. Bass were biting slow presentations. First few fish were on a watermelon/red jig and a 4'' pink/purple roboworm dropshotted. Caught 1 on a purple/black berkley worm t-rigged. None of the fish were that big. It was getting late so I tied a black/blue jig as a last effort to catch at least 1 more before I left. Pitched the jig out and felt the fish and set the hook! Immediately I knew it was a big fish and immediately it swam away peeling line off my reel. It swam around the metal divider next to the dock. I tried to stick my rod out to get the line off the divider but she kept pulling and I broke off. That was the biggest fish I've ever hooked into. If anyone finds a big fish with a black and blue football jig stuck in there please tell how big it was and if you could please give me back my jig that would also be great. 1 guy did catch a trout there with a rooster tail while I was there. First time I've seen that.
