Got a rare trip to Tahuya lake today with a couple buddies. Started out down by Gold Creek and the dam the the fish were hitting right of the bat. My first fish was 4 lbs on a green pumpkin senko out of submerged limbs. A buddy followed that with a 3 1/2 lbs fish off the edge of some grass. Caught several more of all sized by the dam and then came the big lady. Off the edge of some reeds a 6 1/5 lbs beauty hit my baby brush hog in green pumpkin purple flake! A hell of a fight, she dragged me in my kayak no less than 50 yards before I was able to get her in. A really great day, I just wish I could get on this lake more. Sucks that the residents have fought so hard against a boat ramp.
