Squeeze some fishing in today. When I got to the launch, there were a lot of rigs out already...

Tried a few spots for the first hour without anything happened. I see the water is a bit murky. So I'm using a spinnerbait, bigger and bright crankbait and a larger swimbait. Mixing it with a DS.

I get to a rocky point and some wood and I get my first solid bite. It's digging down and running around, then it comes unbutton. Hmmm, another one of those rare releases from the DS. A couple casts later, snag. Retie. 1st cast, snag again! UGH. Then again, I'm told if you're not snagging, you're fishing in the wrong place, LOL.

Moved up the lake, and wanted to hit fart hole, but someone else was there already pounding it. So I tried to see if I could locate the SMB chaser a couple of days ago nearby. No luck.

Moved to another spot and the water is a little bit clearer. The wind is whipping on this side. I'm pointing the bow into the window and fishing out of the back. Works pretty well, until the big waves come from those wake boats.
A local resident told me "a guy pulled out a 5lber from that dock". Bummer, I would have rather that be me. But I stilled tried for it. And you know what, I pulled a fish from that dock too. About a pound. Maybe 1.25lbs. But finally some action.

Moved a bit shallower and deeper. 5 mins later, bam, another fish. Another one about same size. Only difference is, this had a craw halfway down it's throat.
So I started to throw a t-rigged imitation craw into the mix too.

2 hours of mainly silence, and here I get a couple to keep me in the game.

I tried running all the other offerings without even a nibble. I drop the DS down and all of a sudden, I see the line moving. I don't know what it is, but man, the DS is killer. It was maybe 1.5lbs.

I decided to change out the swimbait to a smaller and different color, since water clarity is a bit different here. And it didn't take long before I had action on that. Tossed it long a dock and get a bite. Set the hook and it breaks off.... Ugh. A couple of seconds later, I see the fish jump out of the water. It was barely a dink. I guess bad knot.

I pitch my DS around and get another solid bite. This one is pulling a bit of drag, but I can't see it yet. Get a quick flash and hey, it's not that bad. Scoop it into the net. 2.68#

Since it was so breezy, I figure this is a good time to tie on a heavier weight. I was tossing it into the wind and running it parallel along shore in deepish water. Let it sink for several seconds, then swim it fast. Twitch it, and kill it. BAM! Solid fish. I see it jump and dig back down. Yep, a pretty decent fish. I let it tire out and scoop it into the net. 2.93lbs.

For the next 3 hours, I was getting consistent action. Had to deal with another snag, but next cast, got myself a 2.29lb.

Both the swimbait and DS produced well during this span. Only 3 fish over 2lbs though. Majority were under a pound. 2 or 3 in the 1# range. I believe I ended the day with 11 landed bass. All the waves were tiring. Had enough.

When I got back to the launch, the park was PACKED! Ranger out at the entrance blocking incoming traffic.

Nice one! Did you get a new "lip grip" scale?

This weekend was their 'free weekend'. No not the 'free fishing weekend'. That was a week ago. This weekend nobody had to pay/or have a pass to use the parks. Maybe they still had to pay for launch/&/parking, I don't know. But they didn't have to have a discover pass. I refused to show up for a circus like that, and so hit the local lake. Was on Sammamish today. Yes the water is very dirty.

Hey SY. I got the gripper at Cabelas and replaced the stock crappy hook with these. Works great!

Sammamish was ok. Got 6. Crankbait, and 2 on the dropshot. Lost an ok one and a big one on the dropshot. Fed an Eagle. :-)

Washed the boat just now, let it dry for a couple days, then wax it.
