Arrived for our first day of camping at Moran State park. As soon as the tent was up. I went off fishing. My hubby and son came later and played in the water. Cascade lake has a swimming area and then a nice fishing dock. I fished off the dock. Tried worms and such. Eventually went to power eggs. Limited in not much time. We had nice tasting trout for dinner. You have to be careful though. There is an otter who will steal fish right off the stringer. Saw it happen while there. Later in the evening I learned that the Kokanee bite great at the lake but I had already limited on the trout species for the day. I went to the part of the lake just across from our site on the rocks to do a little c and r fishing. evening time right up to sunset. I used a large purple roster tail. I caught two small baby bass and two fat 8-9 inch bass. Those bass had more fight than the trout by far and more weight. I let them all go but sure was a fun way to end a fishing day.
