Sorry for the late report, We decided to try Alder lake for kokes and see what our luck would bring us as my go to lake American has been in a slump. My son and I arrived around 9 am on the free fishing weekend and wound up waiting to launch for almost one hour as the dock was backed up with pleasure boating. Also one of the hottest days of the year we did not expect to do well but my son wanted to try a new lake. Hit the water and headed to the left of the boat launch and started trolling around the little finger area. We had four poles on the DR at anywhere from the top to 40 ft deep. Running Simon wobblers with the Bloody Mary from Toni Wanna fish a lure seem to be the ticket to land fish today. We also had the Bloody Mary with the dressed hooks that was the second best today with green dodgers. Tipped with corn and the special sauce of bloody tuna could not keep them off the poles.
We stayed for five hours and had our limits of 15 fish each, what a day to remember it was fantastic. There were jet skies everywhere, boats passing within 15 feet of us pulling tubes it was crazy but the fishing was none stop. We lost a ton of fish more then we took home some long releases and some right at the net my son was getting mad he was using our new ego net extends long really nice with rubber net and he just seem to miss every time so he went back to the small net and I used the large one.
A great lake that I will for sure come back to agian both for fishing and fun.
Tight lines,
Eric and Adam.
