I gave Liberty another shot early Friday morning; trying to beat the holiday crowds. I began at first light by throwing topwater baits and was rewarded with several nice 2 and 3 lb largemouth and smallmouth. The outside weed edges near deep water seemed to produce the most aggressive fish. The bite slowed down a little as soon as the sun crept over the mountains surrounding Liberty lake. The total for the morning, I was off the lake by 1000, was about 15. The best fish of the day turned out to be a 6 lb largemouth at 22 inches long, she came out of about 4 FOW.
