I was visiting my parents in Skagit country and did some fishing in several different locations. The first night we took my canoe to Diablo lake. I used to catch plenty of fish here, but in the last 5 or 10 years I've had terrible fishing. I don't know if it's not being stocked, more people are fishing , it was too windy, or if it's only good in August, but we were out for a few hours in the evening and only had one bite, nothing to the boat. I tried spoons, a spinner, and a wedding ring with power bait after a little trolling flasher. Terrible fishing, very disappointing. The thermometer said the water was around 59 degrees, not too cold for mountain trout.
