Haven't fished this lake since the heat wave started. The pounding sun and high temperatures have kept of the water for the most part but on this day the sun wasn't so bad, neither was the heat so decided to try my new lake troller i added. Fished from 4pm-6pm and went 2/3. My first fish was a decent size cutthroat which gave me an exciting fight which lasted a couple minutes. My first from this lake. Second one came off right at the boat and last one was a really chunky rainbow hen that i hooked while releasing the downrigger to head back in when all of a sudden i felt a huge head shake. She peeled some line and into the boat. Didn't expect anything with this size but i'll take it. When i got home the cutthroat had decent orange meat but the rainbow was almost as red as sockeye and extremely firm meat. They both smoked up good.
