The Bar continues to kick out some nice fish early in the morning. Fading into deep water in the lower basin keeps the bite going albeit with smaller (but tasty shrimp fed) fish. Fishing Needlefish squid rigs in green glow and Jeff's Drift rigs made from Mack's Lures components baited with a piece of Northern Pikeminnow has been our standard downrigger rod presentation. On the outrigger rods, T4 and U20 flatfish in Purple glow have gotten the majority of the big fish. As always fish tight to the bottom without dragging. Speeds of 1 to 1.4 mph have triggered most of the bites. With moderating temperatures, it is very pleasant out there, even into early afternoon. Thanks to Yoshi Takamoto for bringing boyfriend Yasutaka Suzuki (sushi chef extraordinaire), the Bates boys, the Lingner clan, The Peters family and the Sauer family for fishing with us the last few days.
