I said I would not be back at this lake until the rain kept the yahoo's away. I kept my word. We did have to wait an hour to launch due to the lightning. The perch kept me busy by constantly hitting Koke lures as I was I trying to stack the downrigger. I'd get the bottom set and be letting out for the top line and bam! Perch on. This went on for a good 10 minutes. A little annoying but at least catching fish.
I had several drive-bys but finally caught a Kokanee at about 0830. Speed was somewhere between .09-1.7 due to the wind. Depth was 18 (top line) ft. Bahama Mama dodger and Wannafish Bloody Mary. Gulp! Maggots with Super Dipping Sauce Sockeye/Kokanee flavoring. This combo caught 2 additional Kokes. All caught near the VA. They weren't American Lake footballs but sized just right for my smoker racks.
When we returned to the WDFW ramp we saw 2 rigs with boat trailers. We never saw them the 4 hours we were on the water. It was nice not having to dodge pleasure boaters and trollers that can't t be bothered to pay attention.
