Another Mt. Lake supposed to be Rainbow and EBT. Only caught Brookies. The hike to the lake is pretty easy, about 3 miles in.Gentle incline gaining about 1100 feet in that 3 miles. We started out with rooster tails, had a few strikes, but no hook up. Switched over to chunks of nightcrawler about half inch in size, the brookies would not leave them alone, only problem is setting the hook. They were all about 5-6 inches, we ended up landing 5 and turning them loose to grow some more, but they all had the big head and skinny body like they are over populated. This lake is another alpine beauty, clear and deep. Plenty of places to camp, though no fires allowed in the summit lake basin. Didnt get any pics of the fish, they really are a colorfull fish. Sharing a few shots of the lake and some views. The trail extends above the lake to a shelf where you have pretty much a 360 view. Rainier is right there, we could see baker in the north. it was pretty hazy in the other directions but you could also look back and see lk tapps. For a normal year the lake is accessable into October. Enjoy
