Oh how I have missed my favorite little lake. Decided to switch it up and give those salmon a break after destroying them this summer. Dusted off the old koke gear and headed on down after a very short work day. Just as im about to head out FlyFISHER Guy gives me a call and ask if I wanted to go to meridian with him. Surprised ! I told him I was already on my way.

Getting on the water trolling just outside of the boat launch I set my rigger down to 25 ft in 50 FOW, hadn't even turned on my fish finder yet my rod starts bouncing. Fish on and fish off. When I did finally have it set up I realized why that was such a fast takedown. The screen was lit up from 20ft to 45 ft with huge orange arches. I trolled parallel to the public dock and hooked 4 fish in 30 min. I released all the other which some were next years fish until FLYFisherGuy got there. Once he did it took a bit of time for me to get that last one. 3 bucks and 2 females. They are definately close to spawning as you can see the humps and hook nose starting to develop. 15-16 inches on the bigger ones and 14 inches on the smalles.

Green wedding ring and sling blade was the ticket which was already set up from my last trip. Corn of course was applied and speed varied from 1.0-1.5 mph. The meat on these guys are firm and very orange. Going to be some great fillets for the smoker this weeekend. Tight lines to you all.

Hey DJ! Wasn't my day today I guess, only hooked and landed 2, ended up giving them to Pot O' Fish. He had a boat load of kids, it was nice to see their smiles when I gave him those fish! Oh well, hoping the coho action this weekend will be better, might get out with Machewbacca, I think he's hitting the Puyallup on Friday. Good to see you my friend, congrats on that nice batch of fish!

I love reading all of your reports. I have always been curious about your pontoon setup. I am contemplating either a Sea Eagle inflatable or a set up like you. I was just curious, if you would not mind telling me what type (brand and size) of pontoon you have and what kind of accessories you have on it (fish finder, electric motor and how you power them)? Do you use flippers as well? I would sure appreciate any guidance you can give me. Thank you very much and thanks for all your reports.
Tight lines,
Oxmary

Nice job DjButler. I've been following your reports and man you have been killing the salmon.!! I've tried the duwamish and have had no luck. Hopefully my luck can change. Always like reading your reports. I might hit this lake Saturday morning and try my luck here. But for sure will keep trying the salmon. Hope your season keeps going as good as it has. Tight lines.

Michael
