Had a pretty unusual day yesterday. Spent some time having small parts of a distant shore washed out of one ear, talked fishing with my doctor and a nurse, took care of some business, reading, and took a look at the reports from WDFW and Northwest Fishing. Since my bride had other things to work on , I figured it would be a good time to make a quick try at the south lake.

While there, the weather was pleasant, but saw very few fish jumping, or on anyone else's lines..for a while. Then one guy's casting started showing some great potential, due to some jumping attacks on his gear. A few minutes later, the bite came around to my edges of the water world. I caught a few of the typically-sized trout, and had a great visit with one of the guys I saw at the lake last winter. While we were talking, one of my poles took a serious bend toward the lake, and a fun fight ensued. The result was one of the biggest Rainbows I have seen at this lake, and one of the top three fish of this year for me.

It wasn't as big as the whopper shown for July 25th, but this big guy was plenty of fun, plus, my wife and I are enjoying a couple of meals from this one dandy.
