I haven’t been to this lake since 4-21-15. I was amazed at how low the water was after our long, dry, hot, summer.
It was mostly cloudy and when I started, 8:30am, there wasn’t any wind but later it did kick up a bit. My motors started up pretty quick. This year they have challenged me. If they start relatively easy it is a good day.
I saw several eagles and took pictures of my rods, fish finder, and dirty boat. When the wind blows at my house the fir needles cover my boat.
The military was out scuba diving. Then one fire department boat came out diving, as well. Saw lots of fish on my finder but didn’t get a single bite. There were a couple of bait balls and then several things I thought might be ropes. I got off the water about 11:30.
One thing I learned is going through Tillicum at noon is like traffic on 405 by Renton on a week day morning. Everyone was headed to a fast food restaurant and the end of the line was in the road.

We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.

Thanks for the report Toni, looks like a nice time on the water to bad the fish did not come out to play. I have had those days this year. There is only a few pine needles lol. Hope your next trip is better, where did you see the ropes?

Hunter I saw them in several places. I thought the fire dept scuba might have been looking for one but I don't know. All west of the North Launch. In 70 feet of water. They were markings on the fish finder that were vertical from 20-60 feet.

Great read Toni. Fall kokanee fishing can be a challange and time to change things up a bit. In Lake Samish the fall fish are partial to small stick baits or rainbow colors, completly out of line with the spring and summer go to rigs.

Thank you Randy. I will keep that in mind if I go again.

Sounds like the area I lost a DR ball a couple of years ago. I have not seen the divers over in that area have you? I know a few guys loose there anchor and the rope floats up but if you catch your gear on one normally you can pull it up, I did one year about 60 ft of rope only. I will have to watch for them next trip out so I don't loose any gear.

pulled a floating rope out of sawyer this year (anchor still attached, lost gear to one in meridian. Ropes must float over time due to decomposition? when anchors are lost?
