I fished with my brother in law Zack today. Fernan from 8:30 to 12:30 and Upper Twin 30 minutes.
Fernan ice was 3-4 inches of good ice with 2 inches of fluffy snow on top down at the far end in the bay by the launch. The rest of the lake looked iffy and we did not seen anyone. Primary target was pike with tip ups. We set 5 as that is all the bait I bought. The other poles we were jigging for perch and or trout. Zack saw a few perch and a bass on the underwater camera. One other nice gentleman had 5 tip ups set up prior to our arrival. We saw one of his flags up taking line but the fish was gone prior to the hook set. It was sunny and beautiful on the ice with clear blue skies and temps in the teens to low 20's. Stopped for lunch and then hit Upper Twin for 30 minutes for some small per k. Ice was pinky 5-6 inches. It did not feel good walking on the ice at Twin. 3 groups catching small perch out from the launch. Colder temps the next few days so the ice should get better.
