This report is for all the times I hit Beaver Lake from after the fall plant until the end of November.
For whatever reason the state planted Beaver Lake with the broodstock a few weeks earlier than they normally did. This was great, as the warmer water helped keep the fish active and the fishing great.
Until the water temp dropped my friends and I would catch between 12-18 fish each time we went out (our trips are usually about 3 hours on the water). As the water dropped below 50 degrees, so do the fishing. We still would catch fish, but it became harder to break double digits.
With only a couple exceptions we released the fish to be caught again.
We mostly trolled, and used a variety of gear from flatfish to dick nite spoons, however we had the most success with flies.
