Well after looking at this website for reports on my favorite bodies of water, I decided to register so I can contribute information to this awesome website. On Saturday 3 friends and I fished Chatcolet. There was about 5 inches of ice on the lake with a few folks fishing near Rocky Point. We opted to walk away from the crowd and explored some water in the 6 to 12 foot range. In four hours we brought back 41 Perch caught on Swedish Pimples and probably released just as many. The perch were a bit small (7-8'') with the biggest at 9''. Got a little 11'' Largemouth through the ice which was released. Also set out 4 tip ups with herring. Had three go off but was unable to hook up with any Pike. Oh well, it was great to be out in such a cool area.

At least they were big enough to eat a pimple. I can't seem to break the 5 inch barrier on silver. Need to get into some big big jumbos, that would be fun. Good day though.

Yep, I agree with that. I live in Cheney and have fished Silver the past couple of winters. Three years ago we got some nice Perch there but the last two winters it has been a real dink fest. Dropping something down to have it pecked by hordes of 3-5 inch Perch. Eloika has some better Perch and Bass but it is a bit of a drive from Cheney. We have done well in the Fall at Chatcolet from the shore casting lures for northerns so we decided to try it through the ice for them. Luckily the Perch were cooperative.
