We made a trip out to Hog to test our luck and the ice. This was my first time ice fishing in probably 8 years. At first the ice seemed a little sketchy to us so we stayed in the shallow area close to the boat ramp. Other people started to show up to the lake that definitely knew what they were doing and they started to venture out farther so we followed suit. The ice was bout 4-5 inches thick and seemed fairly stable. I had one bite but we were unable to land anything. If the cold weather sticks around, I will definitely be heading out again.
