Ice is off the lake. Well, mostly off the lake. There are still a few ice shelves floating around but plenty of open water to fish. Lake level is still very low but water clarity is excellent, 12 feet of visibility. This made fishing a bit more challenging but found success trolling a blue and silver four inch stick bait a couple hundred feet behind the boat with erratic twitching. Landed two 20+ inch trout and a "small" 17 incher. Fishing here is not red hot like rock lake but a fish that peels 50ft of line off your reel makes it worth the slower action. I look forward to returning with my fly rod because these fish are gorging themselves on giant blood worms and leeches.
