WOW!!!!!!!!!! Ok, so I gave a report yesterday about Sammamish and how great the fishing has been. The weather has been quite poor lately, so I thought I would try lake Stevens or Goodwin tomorrow. anyway, I picked up a couple new lures from Shasta Tackle. One is the Hum' Dinger' and the other is the Cripplure. Saw some great success on Angler West TV with these and thought I would give them a try. just to see how they worked, I took them down to the lake real fast for a test cast. (I plan to troll not spin-cast tomorrow). I threw the hum' dinger' on there, i kid you not, first cast I caught a fish. A cute 7" or so rainbow in between the docks. This lake just seems to be teaming with fish!!!! I wasn't even looking for fish. I just wanted to see the action on the lure so I knew what my leader should be for trolling.

That lure is in the starting lineup tomorrow!!!

Here is a photo of my lake Sammamish trolling lure set. Simple and easy does the trick.

Can you see how slow you can go with those Humdingers on the troll? I have been wondering about getting some too.

.9 and it worked. Hard day of trolling today. 3 hits and that was it

Do you think that still-fishing for cutthroats would work on Lake Sammamish? I only have a small kayak and find it too difficult to manage paddling the proper speed while controlling the rod and depth at the same time. Thanks.

actually still fishing does work!! last year, when a neighbor wanted to go i set him up to do that. (my boat only held 3). he had a 8' sun dolphin. i set him up with a bobber, and a worm and he caught a fish before i did trolling. it was in december however, and fish were surfacing all over the place. Do you have a fish finder? if you do, i would find some nice marks, ( saw some great marks around the weather buoy and in multiple other places) and use a spinner, a crippl-lure from shasta tackle, a hum dinger, a wedding ring with some worm, or something else with some great flash and try some jigging. i would be very interested to see how it works.

i think it will work great. especially when the fish are jumping. but for right now, i think a flashy lure and some sent (worms, pro-cure trophy trout scent) should work fine

keep me updated! i sure hope it works very well for you.
tight lines!!!

Good to know about the flatfish! I was interested in getting a few. I have had success with the wiggle hoochie. Right now, what seems to be the difference maker is the smile blade. Everything is biting better with a smile blade. Could be coincidence, could be the fish telling us something!
