Put in a good day's work on the lake shore today. Used Berkley's Gulp Garlic scented orange salmon eggs sandwiched between two green salmon eggs on a 1 1/2 to 2" leader with 2 or 3 split shots. Got lots of hits maybe 20" from shore, really didn't have to cast very far. There was a nice morning bite, slowed down in the middle of the day and then there was a nice evening bite. I caught my limit for the day including my two rainbows over 14' and one kokanee.
Even with a few heavy showers mixed in there it was a gorgeous day to stare at water. I showed up around 8 am and fished until 5 pm. There was a nice fella that joined me for a bit and I just copied everything he did and started to catch some fish. I tried rooster tails, garden worms under a bobber and off the bottom, wax worm off the bottom and a grub off the bottom with no luck before following that nice young gentleman's suggestions and catching some fish. These fish all had intact adipose fins except for one rainbow. And they weren't just biting at my bait, every single one of them swallowed the whole damn thing.
If you've ever fished this lake you know the fish are fickle and may never bite in the same spot on the same bait again this year, I'm gonna go back in the morning though and try my luck again.
Best of luck to you.
