This is actually a report on three lakes. Grandy, Clear and Campbell. Got up a bit late at 8am but the boat was all packed and ready. First time ever to Grandy lake. Great looking camping BUT it was so thick with fog that I couldn't see 30 feet past the launch. Due to never being there before I elected to go with safety and skip the lake. So, backed out of the parking? area and headed to Clear.

Got there at the area was full of shore fisher people a few trailers. Got ready to launch on the Concrete side and was warned about a very large rock that is unseen there so went to the other side and had no problem. Great launch. That was the last great thing about Clear lake. There was a thick algae bloom going on. Was really shocked to see it at 50 degrees. A boat leaving said he found a few but worked for hours on them. I went around the lake once, changing lures 5 times before giving up and trailering up. Found another Submerged piling just under the surface that cant be seen due to the bloom. Thank god no damage to Charlotte.

Now its off back to Campbell thinking I at least knew this lake but knew it would also be busy. Not to be disappointed there were 7 trailers/truck combos in the lot. A Trailblazer I recognized from the last three weekends was pulling in right in front of me. Turns out it was another member, Erica and I invited her to join me on the boat. Noticed this time most of the boats were at the far West end of the lake and toward the middle near the island. So we started trolling with willow leaf blades in front of a fly. Got one right off the bat but was a small 6" rainbow and kept going. Never been to this end of the lake. Very shallow but so very beautiful. We kept at it for a few hours and got 6. Biggest was about 16" and wild as heck. Caught none of the planters this time. Checked with a few others who had the same luck. Seen one pair of anglers that were into one of the huge boys. Great long fight. Asked him what they were using and told Rooster tails. But noticed that they were trolling at about .05 mph. no, no your not. LOL Im betting they were slow trolling Whooly buggers like the rest of the lake were.

Had a great time getting to know a new member. and saved from another day alone on a lake.
