The nice weather the last few days gave me the itch to catch fish. Its been a long winter for me after learning this new (to me) fishery last year.
Was fishing by 8:30am, and gave it up at 10:30, pretty good wind storm blew in about 10. Might be a little too early for the meridian kokes though... Surface temps were 46-47 still, and the kokanee are scattered all over the lake. I did find one school near the north tip of the lake, but no bites.
Long lined one rod w/ various lures, with and without a dodger, and 5-20ft down on the downrigger for the other rod. Hotchies and home made wedding rings for the downrigger rod, with fire corn. .9-1.5 mph. Also got to play with some dodgers that I made out of brass sheet. I was impressed by the action of my dodgers, fish werent though...
Had fun playing with gear that I made, and testing other boat setup/ maintanence projects from over the winter.
Pray for some more warm weather!
