First time out since winterizing. Had to dip my toes in the water and it was cold!!!!

First cast at about 11:30AM. Water temp at 48 degrees, bright skies with smooth glass surface. Not sure if I've fished this early in the year before.

3 hours later, not a single bite from anything. Haven't been skunked this badly in a while. Started off on the west side, since that's where the sun hits first and should be the warmest. That's how it works right? Fished from 2 feet of water, all the way out to 65'. Saw markings on the bottom that deep, but no bites.

Saw a either a giant rat, muskrat, or small possum swimming below the surface. Held it's breath for a very long time. Never saw it surface. Saw a large school of big carp when I was pounding a point. Counted at least 9.

After 3 hours, I decided to just caught some sun, while boating around trying to find new things on sonar. Water temps rose to 54 degrees by 2:30PM.

Maybe next time when water warms up a bit.
