Decided to hit Swofford Pond with my Son for an evening/next day fishing trip. I haven't fished there in 25 years. My first cast I caught a 3# Largemouth. caught him on an old Rapala Minnow. Ended up catching 5 Largies the first evening. All of them between 1.5 and 2.5 lbs. We also caught numerous healthy Rainbows throwing crankbaits. We fished the night bite for Channel Cats with no success. My Son was catching plenty of Trout from the shore too. Crashed in the truck for a few hours and woke up to a very windy lake. Made for some tough fishing. Finally the sun came out, and the winds died. We were able to get into a few more fish. I caught this whopper on the last shoreline before we left. He tipped the scale at 5lbs. 11ozs. This is one of the rare occasions that my Son didn't get any Bass. He usually out fishes me. He did have two nice ones on, that came unbuttoned. The boy only fishes with his ultra lite. Sometimes he misses the leverage that he needs for hook sets. When he was 7 years old he got two IGFA State Records for Largemouth Bass out of Pattison Lake.
