We started fishing at 6am. The Kokanee where jumping all over the lake, it is absolutely full of them. We caught 2 from 7-8 and lost 3 during that time. We flat lined dodgers with wedding rings or mini hoochies on a short 10-12 inch lead, back maybe 50ft. We used corn for bait with dipping sause, kokanee feast, dick nite shad and pro cure garlic bloody tuna. We cycled through corn often, and checked the lines around every 10mins. This was going great until one of our smallest poles bent over real slow, this pole only had 4 lb test on it, so we took our time reeling it in. After a few mins had past we figured it was a big patch of grass or something terrible snagged up, like a branch or something. We cleared all the lines, and when it got to the boat minutes later we all dropped out jaws. It was the biggest rainbow trout i have ever seen. We netted him and took pictures, it was such an amazing fish, he probably had no idea he was hooked, no fight at all. We caught one more kokanee at 9:30. We all had a blast, and also now you know, if the kokanee stop biting, switch over to some trout! They are growing up nice and big in that lake.
