Thought today might be setting up nicely with the incoming front but ended up being a bit of a grind. Caught the first fish about 30 minutes in, a 2.4lber with a strange and distinctive chunk missing out of its tail on a 3/8oz Terminator willow leaf spinnerbait in a pumpkinseed color in about 3 feet of water. Didn't get another bite for about an hour but then caught another on the spinnerbait and one on a swim jig with a small swimbait as a trailer.
The day was overcast the entire time and the wind was steady at 5-10mph. Water temps were 56-61* but you had to travel to find warmer water. I jumped around a lot today as I couldn't get dialed into an area that seemed to be holding fish? It was more like move catch one, move catch one. The primary deal for me today was the spinnerbait and the depth. Although the biggest at 3.3lbs came on the swim jig.
The most interesting thing that happened today was that I caught the fish with the tail section missing TWICE, about 3 hours apart and on the same spinnerbait! That was pretty cool!
Launched at 0800 and was headed home at 1400. I have vacation coming soon so I will make up for lost time then.
