Got the yak on the water at about 9am. Headed north from the ramp to the area we had found fish last year. Not many fish there, but marked a lot in much of the lake. Couldn't find anything that they wanted until about noon, when I tried my brightest red-orange wedding ring by itself (no dodger). Bam! Fish on! The bite was consistent only on our brightest orange and red lures. All trout under 11" were released to grow some more. We kept 6 rainbows between the 2 of us, but none were over 12". No browns this time. The weather was the nicest we've seen on this lake and we had a great time. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the lack of action for the first 3 hours and the size of the fish. Still, they were fat for their size and good fighters. Several came off when they went airborne. Fun times! Tight lines everyone!
