Met up with my nephew to fish Lake Stevens for Kokanee using Elgin Fishing God's Tooth spoons modified for Kokanee. Started fishing at 7:15am. We were trolling by the aerator and then headed towards the Purple pennant then just trolled all over. Most fish caught near the aerator. We finished at 3:15pm. I used 1 rod and nephew used 2 rods (2 pole endorsement for him). Nephew used his favorite spinner on 1 rod and God's Tooth 50/50 Gold on the other. I used the Pink color. The modification involved removing the split rings and running the leader through the large and small openings of the spoon and running the leader along the backside of the spoon. The spoons were set on slow action. A chrome bead was used to separate the spoon from the double hook set up. God blessed with each of us limiting out with 10 fish (20 fish total). Of the 20 fish caught, 19 were caught using the God's Tooth spoons and 1 was caught on nephew's spinner. Water temp at surface was 55 degrees and the fish were located within the top 10' of the water column. Fish size ranged from 12"-14" and they looked nice and healthy.
My set up: 4" Dick Nite dodger, 12lb fluorocarbon leader 16"-18", God's Tooth, chrome bead, 2 Gamakatsu drop shot hooks size 4, white shoepeg corn on each hook and dipped in super dipping sauce/krill scent. Wishing all tight lines!
