Hiked into East end of Nunnally on Sunday. Gorgeous day, sunny and 75 degrees. Got to lake at about 9:30 and was tossing my favorite chironomid pattern before 10. Good hatch going on with hatched chiro's in the 8 to 10 size range, almost comical they were so big. Very little surface action which is unusual for this part of the lake. Water temp was upper 50's and there was a lot of moss and bottom scum floating in the water. Worked reeds and deep and still very little going on. Went 1 for 4 which is sadly the worst day I have ever had there. Watched an Osprey go 0 for 4 as well. Apparently we both had a tough day catching. Wondering if last year's high water temps caused a big kill off, or perhaps too much poaching. Don't know why but the fish were just not there. Hopefully they will recover by next year.
