Hit West Medical for trout opener and had a great time! The wife and I just moved up from Southern CA, so this was our first WA fishing experience. Got to the lake around 5AM and paid our dock fishing dues [$4/person]. There were already about 7-10 people at the end of the dock just slammin' it. They were all averaging about 20+ inches and fat! Unfortunately, the folks that didn't get the end of the dock were less fortunate. I hooked up with a pan size, 10-12", about an hour into the trip. Other than that I didn't land anything. The wife hooked up with a monster about two hours after I landed my little guy. Was, honestly, one of the biggest trout I've ever seen in person. Unfortunately, the line broke and it got away. All in all, it was a great experience and we will definitely be going back, but will try and get the end of the dock before anyone else does.

Welcome to Washington! With the Vehicle Access Pass that comes with your fishing license, you have parking inside the ajacent WDFW Access Site; lots of bank access as well a lot of bank access through the hole in the fence to the DNR property.
