Day 2 Saturday April 30th:
So got a hold of my brother in law Tim Yedinak in Wenatchee and asked if he would like to join me since the girls had plans to shop on our anniversary haha! He drove up Friday night so we were up at 4:30 and on the water before 6 am. Now there was a bit more of a breeze this morning so we worked hard to keep the boat straight and managed a little one before hearing from Fish Dawg that they were tearing it up over by the state park!
We motored over to the state park after a break at 11 am and realized we were late to the party as Bryan, Katie and Alan were putting on a clinic over there and ever time we saw his boat he was netting a fish! We managed to pull in 9 kokanee 1 lake trout and 1 cutthroat but got a text from Bryan (fish dawg) that they were limited out and heading in for brunch! The killed it! Also saw Mike@bills who came down from the upper lake where he said the weather was nasty with 3 foot swells!! Amazing the different weather you can encounter on 1 body of water!
Anyway made it back to the hotel in time to shower and get our goodies for the pot luck at the state park~ Shout out to all that put this together again as it was a great time of meeting members. great food ( special thanks again to Rseas and family for cooking) and sponsors who shared some new items that I thought were awesome! Already looking forward to next years event!
Day 3 Sunday May 1st:
So was excited to hit the lake 1 more day and again blessed with just a beautiful day on Lake Chelan. Decided to run straight to the state park and was greeted by about 12 boats so started working my gear. Got my biggest fish of the weekend on a pink and polka dot mini brads at 115 feet in 304 fow that pulled it off the clip! Ended at 11:30 with 2 fish and after hearing the news that they had closed Lake WA decided to pull my boat over to Ephrata to leave at my other brother in laws house for the up coming derby on Park Lake on May 14th.
Thanks again to Mike Carey and Aaron and co. for all the work put in for putting on this great event and will become a yearly tradition as long as I am able to make it!
See you on the water!
