Lake was calm and algae free today. Trout rising everywhere eating all the bass fry and other fry I'm sure. Bait balls everywhere, bass were feeding on them as well! I started through the pads near the launch throwing a reaction type bait and had zero interest. Once I cleared the pads I switched to a Senko and started catching pounders immediately. I did hook one in the pilings that may have gone 3 but he took advantage of the light line I was using and got off.

Motored over to the docks across from the launch and caught a couple more pounders. Up the east side and a couple more pounders. I saw a decent boil up ahead of me on the edge of the pads so I picked up a frog and chucked it that way, just as it was clearing the pad point kaboom! If this fish lives long enough it's going to be a moose cause I was instantly thinking 8lber when it hit, it was that aggressive! Ended up being big fish of the night unfortunately, the 2.6lber in the photo.

Testing out my new Ninja Grass Blade I glued to my trolling motor yesterday I made a run through the middle of the thickest pads there on the south side of the lake.....at this point, with the 80lb Motorguide and this goofy little add on I am pretty much unstoppable!! Went through the thick stuff like butter! :)

While I was in there I was throwing a Strike King Rage Tail and missed an absolute giant in an opening in the pads! I saw this one and there was no doubt 6+! He took the tail of my bait for a souvenir and that was that, I tried the Senko follow up but to no avail.

Nice night, enjoyed watching and hearing the eagles feasting on the trout all day, always cool. I was off the water about 7pm as my back was acting up.

Love those aggressive bass even if they aren't huge. Had a 14" jump about 3ft out of the water once. Nothing like a feisty fighter. Great photos.
