Late report.
Took a disabled friend fishing at Fish lake at the Cove Resort.
Rented a pontoon boat and headed out. Was pretty slow fishing even trolling the regular goto lures.
Ended up trolling Wedding Rings with Gulp Eggs and that was the ticket???
A fish starts nibbling at my friends Wedding Ring. I slow down and speed up a couple of times and the fish finally takes the bait.
I'm busy rigging a Wedding Ring on my pole when my friend says "Hey Bill look at this fish". The thing is a monster and has just realized that it does not want any part of this pontoon boat.
My friend hands me the rod and says "Good Luck"
After an awesome fight on the Ultra Light rod and 6 lb test line I get the fish up along the side of the boat and I grab the net. Crap!! it is too big to net head first. I spin the fish around and net it tail first!!!
I have been fishing Fish Lake for over 20 years trying to catch 1 of it's big fish.
Today 7#14oz according to Their scale. A beautiful Rainbow holdover caught on a Wedding Ring with a Gulp egg!!
