I hiked up to 8 mile lake yesterday near Leavenworth. It's 7 miles roundtrip, and by the time I got to the top it was much colder and windier than at the trailhead. I fished for several hours and caught a few decent cutthroat, but I think the water's still a bit cold for them to be really active (47 degrees). I lost some nice lures and my raft sprung a leak, so my fishing was't nearly as good as maybe it could have been. Still, it's a great hike and at least I didn't get skunked.
