NWFR Spring Gathering - A Fish Princess Adventure

We closed our Lake Chelan adventure for 2016 in style.

Knowing we would have to pack up and break camp by mid-day we got on the water about 0600. It was a glorious sunny and calm day and while not as furious as Saturday, the fish bit frequently enough to keep us interested. We still caught most of our fish on 3 colors of lead core and also managed a couple on the down riggers. Our presentations on the lead core rigs were the same as Saturday while we rotated gear on the down rigger rods. The biggest fish of the day came on my custom designed 'Game Day' mini cut plug packed with tuna and fished at about 75'.

The Fish Princess was equal to the task again reeling in many of the 9 kokanee we brought to the boat in about 4 hours of fishing. She also hauled in another mack in the process. She did rotations on duty station net and at the helm similar to the previous day. She is becoming quite a proficient angler and I'm proud of her spirit to keep learning more.

When we returned to camp Alan donated one of our kokanee to a friendly neighbor that we befriended who had some tough luck attracting a fish on his own despite our best coaching. This gift was appreciated and we split up the remainder of the weekend catch before heading our separate ways.

Many of our tasty treats went through the smoker the following week and were enjoyed by friends, family, and colleagues at the office.

We had an absolute blast at the event and are already looking forward to next year!
